Chattanooga's old Hamilton National Bank built this branch office in the early 1950's. EPB Employees Credit Union
purchased it from its successor, First Tennessee Bank, in 1978. Our one-and-only renovation of the building was
in 1987; so now, 21 years later, we're doing it again. We have been having some major moisture problems in the floor and walls these last few years. To just cure that alone we would have had to have most of this work performed anyway. So, since the hard core work had to be done, we thought that we would replace a few things and spruce up the place a little!! |

Much of the work going on as of August 14th was in the ceiling. New electrical and duct work is
being placed in the 3-foot space between the bottom of the second floor and the old ceiling still visible in
this photo. The contractors climb a 12-foot ladder and enter through those two-foot square holes that have
been cut in the old metal and plaster ceiling. They then crawl around where necessary to complete
their work. This building is pretty solid and it has presented the contractors with some "special challenges" -
some we are still discovering!
