This sidewalk view shows the beginning stages of the new side entrance on August 22nd. The new entrance will be moved closer to the night deposit box to help eliminate all steps into the building. Although our members will need to walk a bit further from the parking lot, the elimination of our old 5-step entrance should be a major benefit to several of our members having difficulty with them.

That second window from the left will be replaced with a door. An overhang, larger than the current one, will offer protection from the elements. The current side door will be replaced with a window for Nadine's new office.

Our kitchen floor (and about half the other floors in the building) had tile that was stuck to the floor with asbestos glue. It wasn't a hazard in the typical asbestos sense, but did require removal using "hazmat" procedures. After a chemical treatment Thursday, August 21st, a "beadblast" machine was used over the weekend to remove all glue and other material. The gray powder material on the floor in the photo at right is actually pin-size steel balls the machine uses to "blast" the floor's surface. The heavy duty machine was pretty effective in cleaning our floor!
