As a member-owned credit union, EPBECU exists to serve the people who belong here. That means personal, local service, competitive rates, fewer fees, and financial products designed around the needs of our members.

We proudly serve the employees, retirees, and families of EPB, Tennessee American Water, and BASF Chattanooga, along with other eligible members of our credit union family.

Who Can Join?

Membership is available to:

  • Employees of EPB and EPB Employees Credit Union

  • Retirees of EPB

  • Eligible family members of EPB employees, EPBECU employees, and EPB retirees

  • Employees of eligible EPB contractors

  • Employees of Tennessee American Water

  • Retirees of Tennessee American Water

  • Eligible family members of Tennessee American Water employees and retirees

  • Employees of BASF Chattanooga

  • Retirees of BASF Chattanooga

  • Eligible family members of BASF Chattanooga employees and retirees

Eligible family members include grandparents, parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

  1. Make Sure You’re Eligible

  2. Complete Your Membership Application
    Complete our secure online membership application to get started. Become a member.

  3. We’ll Take It From There
    An EPBECU team member will review your application and contact you if any additional information is needed to complete your membership

  4. A Few Things to Know
    Opening your membership establishes your relationship with EPBECU and gives you access to the products and services available to eligible members. A $30 minimum balance in your Primary Savings Account is currently required to maintain membership. Joint ownership of an account does not automatically establish credit union membership for the joint owner. If a joint owner would like access to EPBECU products and services in their own name, we’ll be happy to help them establish their own membership.
